In honor of Father’s Day, we are beginning our blog with the top 5 styling tips for men.  Guys, I’m going to make this short and to the point.  Read On:

1. Change it up

Don’t be afraid to create change. It doesn’t have to be dramatic.  Let it be subtle.

2.  Match the attire

Use your hair to compliment what your wearing. If your night out calls for elegant suiting, try one of the many barbered looks (clean, slicked back, etc.).  If your having a more casual meeting, let the posture of your hair represent that.  Be classy.

3. Be unique but not obvious

Your hair doesn’t have to be loud to turn heads.  Subtle highlights can speak louder than a 5 inch faux hawk. It tells people: “of course you care about the way you look, just in a very mature and stable way.” If you have grays, Paul Mitchell has an excellent color line that will color the dull grays and leave the shiny silvers and whites alone IN ONLY 10 min. This can take you from old and weathered to wise and fortified in no time at all

4. Minimize the amount of product you use

Stop overloading your hair with sprays, pomades, waxes, etc. Ask your stylist what products she used. In many luxury products you can create cocktails with very small amounts of products to create different looks. Don’t be afraid to ask her recommendation specifically for your hair

5. Use shampoo & CONDITIONER

If you are a man and you are reading this, odds are you are already using both shampoo and conditioner.  However, if your not, start getting away from the following:

– low end products which damage the hair (wal-mart, drug emporium, heb, etc.)
– diverted products (products not sold in salons) as these are ALWAYS tampered with and damage the hair.
– two-in-one shampoo and conditioners.  These are a start, but move into something made specifically for your hair.

Doing this will greatly benefit the look and feel of your hair.
